1-on-1 FAA Checkride & Ground Coaching for International Pilots

FAA checkride failure rates remain high across certificate levels: reported 2025 data shows 24.9% for Private Pilot, 26.3% for CFI-Initial, and 23.3% for Commercial. A failed checkride can add $600-2,000 in retest fees, aircraft rental, and extra instructor time, before counting schedule delays that matter even more for international pilots working around visas, travel windows, and time zones. FAAForeignPilot connects you with FAA-certificated mentors for focused online ground coaching, mock oral exams, and practical checkride preparation.

Live Coaching vs. Recorded Courses

Why Pay More Than a Recorded Course?

Online ground schools like Sporty's or Gold Seal sell you the same recorded video everyone else gets. They cannot answer your specific question, explain why your home country's procedures differ from FAA standards, or tell you what your particular DPE tends to ask. You are paying for content. With FAAForeignPilot, you are paying for a real FAA-certificated pilot who answers your exact question, live.

Recorded Ground School

Recorded Ground School

  • One-size-fits-all video content
  • No way to ask your specific question
  • Cannot explain your country-specific gaps
  • Same material every student watches
  • $199-499 one-time, but you study alone
A failed checkride costs $600-2,000 in retest fees and weeks of delay.

One focused 1-on-1 session often costs less than that risk.

All mentors are FAA-certificated pilots with ICAO English Proficiency Level 4 or above. Every credential is verified against the FAA Airmen Registry before a mentor is approved.

FAA Training Path

Choose your current stage.

Start with the FAA stage you are working on now. Each session is one hour and matched manually so the mentor fit is better than an instant marketplace booking.

Why 1-on-1 Coaching

Target the weak points before the examiner finds them.

Mentoring is built for pilots who need focused preparation, not another generic video course.

Reduce first-attempt risk

Use targeted mock oral practice to find weak ACS areas before the checkride day.

Ask a real FAA pilot

Get direct answers from FAA-certificated mentors instead of relying only on forums, videos, or chatbot summaries.

Work across time zones

Online sessions fit international pilots who are balancing training, travel, employment, and visa-dependent schedules.

Pay as you go

Start with a single session or save with multi-session packages when you need structured preparation.

How It Works

Simple enough to launch now.

We keep the first version deliberately human: request a session, get matched, receive payment and meeting details manually, then take the call.

FAQ

Before you book a mentor

How does 1-on-1 mentoring work?

Choose your FAA stage, select a topic or package, and send a short request. The team manually matches you with a suitable FAA-certificated mentor, then sends scheduling and payment details.

Are mentors verified FAA pilots?

Mentors must apply through our credential review process and confirm FAA certificate status, teaching subjects, ICAO English Level 4 or higher, and professional background before they can be matched with students.

What if I'm not satisfied with my session?

Contact the advisory team after the session. We review the issue, the session scope, and mentor notes, then decide whether a replacement session, different mentor, or partial credit is appropriate.

Can I book multiple sessions in a package?

Yes. Each stage offers single sessions and package options. Package pricing is recalculated on the server so the booking request cannot be submitted with a modified price.

Do you guarantee I'll pass my checkride?

No outcome is guaranteed. Mentoring provides preparation and practice; checkride results are determined solely by the FAA Designated Pilot Examiner.
