Chinese pilots should validate the career path before choosing FAA conversion, FAA ATP CTP, or a type rating. The right order depends on target region, aircraft, total time, recent experience, English, and budget.
What to evaluate
- Start with the career target, then work backward to license, training, timing, and budget decisions.
- Use FAA conversion, FAA ATP, and type rating training only when they support a realistic career sequence.
- Build a written plan before paying deposits for simulator programs or advisory packages.
Where training fits
Training is not the starting point. Once the pathway is credible, training decisions can be mapped to the next constraint: FAA ATP, ATP CTP, A320 or B737 type rating, business jet type rating, recurrent training, or provider comparison.
