Chinese pilots should validate the career path before choosing FAA conversion, FAA ATP CTP, or a type rating. The right order depends on target region, aircraft, total time, recent experience, English, and budget.
What to evaluate
- Map current license, medical, English, hours, aircraft, and line experience against target market expectations.
- Identify which gaps are career blockers and which gaps can be solved later through training.
- Decide whether an FAA ATP, ATP CTP, or aircraft type rating supports your next career move.
Where training fits
Training is not the starting point. Once the pathway is credible, training decisions can be mapped to the next constraint: FAA ATP, ATP CTP, A320 or B737 type rating, business jet type rating, recurrent training, or provider comparison.
