Chinese pilots should validate the career path before choosing FAA conversion, FAA ATP CTP, or a type rating. The right order depends on target region, aircraft, total time, recent experience, English, and budget.
What to evaluate
- Compare airline experience with business aviation expectations such as client service, flexible scheduling, and aircraft-specific experience.
- Understand when light jet, turboprop, super-midsize, or large-cabin type ratings may help.
- Evaluate FAA certificates and U.S. simulator training as tools within a broader business aviation plan.
Where training fits
Training is not the starting point. Once the pathway is credible, training decisions can be mapped to the next constraint: FAA ATP, ATP CTP, A320 or B737 type rating, business jet type rating, recurrent training, or provider comparison.
